マーク・エドワード・ハリスの「フォトエッセイ」は、
単なる記録写真ではなく、複数の写真を組み合わせて「物語」として構築する手法です。

風景・ポートレート・ディテール・環境描写など、
さまざまな種類の写真を組み合わせることで、
一つの旅やテーマを立体的に表現します。

「どこに行ったか」ではなく、
「何をどう伝えるか」を重視し、
写真と言葉を組み合わせて一貫したストーリーを構築することが重要とされています。

The Photo Essay Workshop - Mark Edward Harris

Mark Edward Harris’s “Photo Essay” approach focuses on building a cohesive visual story, rather than simply documenting where you’ve been.

By combining different types of images—such as landscapes, portraits, details, and environmental scenes—photographers construct a layered narrative that conveys a deeper sense of place.

The emphasis is not on “I was here” images, but on how to communicate a story, often integrating both photographs and text into a unified visual essay.
